Game Night!

Bring a game that you want to play with others, and/or play a game that members bring. Any kind of game is great! Cards, dice, tiles, board games are all good. Examples are Rummikub, Farkle, Yahtzee, Quirkle, Five Crowns, Phase 10, Uno, Monopoly, and Trios.

Friendsgiving and our Wonderful Holiday Auction

After the business meeting, we will enjoy our ever-popular potluck Friendsgiving. We are also having our popular Holiday Auction at this time. This is our big fundraising event for the year!  Get creative and put together a fun basket for the silent auction. Cash donations are always welcome, too. Invite friends to join us! This benefits our Recruitment Grant efforts.

Hostesses: Every member contributes! Sign-up at September and October meetings for food contributions. 

Arrangements: Room: Linda Szymkowiak, Program Committee will provide food sign-ups at September and October meetings and sign-ups for managing the day of the event.

4:30-6:30 Friendsgiving. Enjoy food and fellowship, baked goods auction, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and a new and different fundraising activity.

Dot Painting Craft Night 

We will not have a business meeting. This is a casual evening to create a beautiful project such as an ornament or a notebook. The projects will cost $35 or $40.

Wills and Trusts and other Estate Planning Topics

Mr. Edward Lipsky, Attorney-at-Law, will talk with us about the importance and process of establishing wills and trusts in the estate-planning process.

The program will be on Zoom and will be open to DKG ILSO. Zoom information will be sent closer to the date of the program.

Our presenter will talk to us about the State of Illinois Comprehensive Plan to Teach Numeracy.

Field Trip to SCARCE   (School and Community Assistance for Recycling & Composting Education)

We will meet at the facility for a tour.  

SCARCE is an award-winning environmental education non-profit dedicated to creating sustainable communities. We accomplish this through innovative and hands-on education programs for schools and organizations, demonstrating care for people and our natural resources through our Reuse 

Center, and engaging the broader public through community-wide events and programs.

Hostesses: Casual dinner after presentation at a local restaurant

Candidates for Membership “Get Acquainted” Tea & Executive Board Meeting

New member candidates will meet Executive Board members and learn about the history and purposes of the society. Following the tea, Executive Board members will participate in a planning meeting.

DKG Illinois State Organization Convention (in person)


Watch the DKG-ILSO Newscaster for information. Please plan to attend the convention! Consider joining our excellent convention choir, the Jubilation Singers. (See Mary Wrobel and/or Holley McKee for more information.)

Service Project: Our chapter will provide items for the convention Art Mart. Part of the proceeds from the Art Mart benefit DKG ILSO grants and a portion of the proceeds is returned to the chapter.

Gamma Gamma Annual Spring Celebration of Membership

Please join us in celebrating another great year! The afternoon will begin with the induction of new members and Chapter recognitions. Next will be the awarding of recruitment grants, Literacy Award, and Chapter scholarships. This is the final celebration of the year and a wonderful opportunity for everyone to spend time together while celebrating Chapter successes and accomplishments.
